How do I sign up for classes?
Once you have purchased your membership, you will have access to a monthly calendar when you login to our website. Simply click on a date that is highlighted and click to join a class. You will be prompted to enter your name and email. Confirmation email will be sent to you.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a class?
No problem. Simply login to our website, click on your class and you will be given the option to cancel and reschedule. Confirmation email will be sent to you.

How do I join a class?
You can participate in a class from anywhere you have internet access. You will have received a confirmation email with a zoom link for your class after you had registered for that class. You simply click on that link around five minutes prior to the class’s start. The trainer will let you into the class. Most members access the class through their desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or phone.

How much space do I need for a class?
Ideally, you need at least six feet of clear space around you and 8 feet distance from your online camera, so your trainer can see you from head to toes. If you’re in a smaller space, however, don’t worry. Our trainers will work with you during the session to optimally adjust your camera as needed.

What equipment do I need for a class?
None! Most members will get a great strength work-out without equipment. We do recommend you have a mat, towel, water bottle and chair. As you progress, simple household items can be added to provide resistance. In addition, a gym ball, light dumb-bells, and resistance bands can be introduced when you’re ready.

How many classes do you offer?
We offer live-only, interactive classes Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Following our initial launch, we will expand to 6 days per week. All classes are 30 minutes.

How many participants per classes?
Only 8 people per class. This small group generates a fun interactive experience and enables the fitness professional to provide individual instruction.

How do I choose my fitness level?
No need. You can sign up for any class. Your fitness professional will tailor intensity and difficulty level to each match each participants individual needs.

Do you offer a library of classes?
Not currently. However, we plan on providing asynchronous pre-recorded classes in the future. Stay tuned.

Can I contact my trainer with questions?
Absolutely!  We can provide an email address and contact them for you.  And remember that trainers can always answer questions and modify exercises during the live classes themselves.

What's the difference between strength training once, twice, or three times weekly?
The US Physical Activity Guidelines recommends a minimum of 2 days per week for strength exercise. However, multiple scientific studies have demonstrated that 3 days per week increases the health benefits which further reduce the risk of death, improve strength, and improve daily physical functional ability. All of which will help you enjoy an active and fulfilling lifestyle during the best years of your life.

What are your monthly membership options?
We offer three membership levels based on the number of strength training classes you take: one, two or three per week. Current rates are here. With every level of membership, you also have free access to all our newsletters and videos.

Can I put my membership on hold?
You may cancel your membership at any time and then restart it when you are ready. Once you have paid for your current month, we are unable to reimburse you for that month. When you cancel membership or put it on hold that starts at the next billing month.

What if I don't use all my allotted classes in a month?
We are unable to reimburse you for classes missed during a specific week, but we work with you to schedule make-up sessions from the options on our schedule within that same week period. Contact us as fitvintagehealth@gmail.com and we will do our best to make this happen.

Is Fit-Vintage covered by health insurance or Medicare?
Like most fitness programs, we’re not yet covered by any insurance. But we’re working on it! Sign up here for updates.

Who benefits most from Fit Vintage?
Our classes are designed for older adults, whether you’re returning to exercise after being away for a while or already involved in fitness activities. Our program is built on strength training, the critical building block for restoring and growing mobility, agility and independence.

What if I've never exercised before?
In our live interactive small classes, our trainers explain every step and guide you.

What if I have a pre-existing condition?
Our live classes are small so that you get individualized guidance from trainers who are experts at modifying moves; you’ll be safe while building strength. Please consult with your doctor to determine whether a strength training plan is appropriate for you, and we recommend getting clearance before starting Fit Vintage. Please inform the trainer of any musculoskeletal or medical conditions.

Will strength training make me look like a bodybuilder?
This is one of the biggest misconceptions. Unless you’re on a radical workout routine you will not look like a bulked-up bodybuilder. It is actually very difficult to increase muscle mass to such a great extent as we age. However, we can significantly increase our strength, which is critical for remaining active, healthy, and independent.

What are "assessments"?
We use standard physical performance assessments used in the medical community to measure your strength, balance, mobility, and agility. For example, how many times can you rise from a chair in a set amount of time. We use these data points to help you track your progress.
